About

A psychologist gone crafty...

My entrepreneurial path began with curiosity and a desire for something more fulfilling than my role in academia could offer. Dabbling in online ventures since the late '90s, I was captivated by the endless possibilities the internet had to offer. However, this path wasn't without its hurdles.

Like many of you, I've faced the struggles of balancing energy, time, and focus, all while trying to navigate the complexities of marketing and project completion.

Background

I was born and raised in a Detroit, where opportunities were scarce but dreams were big. As a single mother, I knew the importance of education and was determined to create a better life for my children.

While attending university, I explored ways to earn extra income online. I created fan sites and blogs, learning valuable skills in content creation, marketing, and community building.

However, after completing my PhD in 2006, I found myself professionally unsatisfied. I yearned for a more creative outlet.

So in 2009, I left academia behind and became a full-time online entrepreneur. I earned primarily through ad revenue from blogging and selling my writing.

In 2013, I discovered a passion for jewelry design. I took a leap of faith and started an Etsy business selling unique jewelry and jewelry supplies. It was an uphill battle, but my persistence and hard work eventually paid off. My small venture blossomed into a six-figure business, providing me with the financial stability I desired.

The pandemic brought new challenges. Supply chain disruptions and postal delays threatened my business, forcing me to adapt. In 2022, I decided to retire from my jewelry business and shifted my focus to print on demand, affiliate marketing, and selling digital products.

Throughout my long journey despite all the changes, the one consistent aspect contributing to my success was having systems in place to help me produce products and content consistently.
